Camie and I were both born and raised in Moffat County and have been involved in some aspect of hunting and wildlife since we were kids. My grandpa was an avid hunter who guided in the area for several years and is the one who taught me how to hunt successfully. I have hunted in all areas of Moffat County, many states in the U.S., and been on hunts in Canada and New Zealand. I started mountain lion hunting when I was in high school and now have 20 professionally trained dogs to hunt with.
Camie’s father guided for the same family on Williams Fork, in southeast Moffat County, for 25+ years. Every weekend as a kid she would spend at hunting camp either on horseback with her dad and hunters or in the lodge helping her mom prepare meals or visiting with the hunters. While she was in college she came home several weekends during hunting season to see her family and help around camp anyway she could.
In 2014 we decided with our background in hunting and passion to provide a quality hunt and memorable experience for clients, we started Double H Outfitters, LLC. We have seen first-hand from other outfitters what was done correctly, what could be done better, and what hunters want. We focus on small groups of hunters, one on one guide service, and nice accommodations.
Our guide staff is knowledgeable, avid hunters here to help make your hunt enjoyable and successful. Most of them were born and raised in the area and know the terrain, wildlife habitat, and herd migration very well. They are certified in CPR and First Aid.
Outside of the hunting business we have a few other business ventures and enjoy a variety of other hobbies. We own a drain, septic, water, and portable restroom business that service the immediate area, neighboring counties, and the local mines. We are also co-owners of Darkelly, a leading barrel horse sire in the industry. When we are not hunting we are usually on the road to a rodeo somewhere. Camie runs barrels in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association. We travel all over the western United States. We enjoy fishing, traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family.
